How digital marketing has revolutionised the estate agent industry 

10 years ago if you were looking to buy or rent a property it would require going to speak to an estate agent in person and would require you to arrange to view any properties you may be interested in. This can be a long and time consuming process so it makes sense that with the development of the internet people are going online to get an accurate view of any houses they’re considering. 

Showing properties online means that now it’s easier to reach large amounts of people across the country. For example a couple in Manchester could be viewing a house in London or a family in Bristol could be looking for a home in Scotland. The internet offers much more there reach, whereas an estate agents would more than likely only feature local properties in their windows, which would make it difficult to find houses outside of the local area. 

Finding a property is so easy due to a number of factors, having a website which is responsive and can be viewed on mobile devices means that people can look for a property whenever they like. If someone was to drive past a house they see is for sale they can then check it out on their mobile, there and then rather then them waiting until they get home, or having to go and speak to someone in person to ask about it. Using SEO allows people who are looking for properties to find them, if a website has copy written for search engine rankings then those people searching can easily find the website, which is easier than trying to find a couple of estate agents on the high street. 

It is also easy to now share properties with others through things such as social media and instant messaging, now if a person was to see a nice house or apartment, through Facebook or Twitter they could then send that property to a friend or family member to also see without having to both people having arrange to go and speak to somebody.

Looking at properties online offers people a chance to look at a house without commitment, often people just want to get an idea of what it is like without genuinely wanting to buy. Through looking at houses online you can have a detailed look at what the property looks like and then if genuinely interesting can go and view the house. There isn’t an easier way to sell properties and as long as technology continues to develop it won’t be changing any time soon.
