It's Goodbye From Me – Leaving Discovery Design

3 years ago, I joined a small web design and marketing team here in Durham, working my first ever office job and filled with excitement. In that time, I’ve likely written hundreds of thousands of words, both in article form and SEO content, read by many across the country and even the world.

Now as I look around these years later, we’re no longer a three-person team, I’m surrounded by talented programmers, developers and marketing specialists. Working on much larger projects, alongside huge clients – constantly moving forward!

Having spent countless hours throughout the last number of years generating fresh ideas and content in order to build the company blog we have today, it felt necessary to announce that I will be leaving my role at Discovery Design and I’d like to address this with those of you who may be reading.

During my time with Discovery Design, I’ve learnt a great deal, gaining useful insights into how the marketing and web design industry works. As well as gaining valuable experience that has allowed me to position myself as a content creator who can offer my own unique and informed take on industry developments.

Throughout the years, I’ve been lucky enough to work in an environment that has allowed me to develop a variety of crucial skills such as PPC, email marketing and even dabbling in front-end development. Skills that won’t only benefit me within the industry, but also skills that will benefit me through my own future adventures in life, something I’ll always be grateful for.

To those of you who have kept up to date with the blog throughout the years, I’d like to say a massive thank you! Despite occasional bouts of writer’s block and feeling like writing was the last thing on my mind, it’s always been encouraging to know that there are people reading and enjoying the content I’ve produced.

On a much lighter note.

The good thing about change is that it opens up a number of new doors and opportunities. And while I’ll be stepping away from the company, this means there is now an opportunity for new insights, new ideas and a completely fresh take on the blog, our social media channels and our digital marketing efforts.

On a personal level, it’s been a real pleasure to work in such a supportive environment, working alongside a team who are always looking to keep growing and developing their skills and ideas. As well as a team who are constantly striving to offer a reliable, enjoyable experience for each and every one of our customers.

While I’ll no longer be directly involved it goes without saying that I’ll continue to be supportive, cheering on both the team and our clients from afar.

I can’t wait to see what comes next.
